Hong Kong-based Romain FX has long been one of the more significant figures on Asia's electronic music underground. It turns out he's also a massive fan of Charlie's 1983 Italo-disco classic - and one of dance music's most timeless electronic anthems - 'Spacer Woman'. This 12" sports his cover of the cut, which is presented in three distinctive mixes. The headline attraction is his 'vocal version' featuring chanteuse Kaona - a Cantonese language interpretation in which replicated elements of Charlie's original mix (the throbbing sequenced bassline, spacey chords and intergalactic electronics) rise above a crunchy electro beat. It comes accompanied by a fine instrumental take (the 'Karaoke' version) and the stretched-out, TB-303-laden 'Acid Trip Version' - a mix that more than lives up to its name.
