Mammo's Lateral lands on Short Span as a triple-12" utterance, fixing years of alias work to one turntable-destined tablet. Fabiano has operated under a scatter of names - Heaven Smile, A8x, CoA-A, E35, Puddlerunner - each probing a different angle on a sound indexed overall by careful harmony, bevelled texture and painstaking layering. The first disc of three 12"s here skims bright, optical dub techno with clean contours and swing, while the second goes heavier. Its 12 tracks identify the throughline as control: modular programs meticulously planned out, the furthest thing from pieced together.
