Originally released in 1992, this almost-forgotten deep house curio from Nelson Roman is one of the few highly developed demonstrations of what the producer could do, with just a few other releases under his own name from the same era. Across the four tracks on this 12", simplicity is the key as was the way back then, and yet the mood that emanates from Roman's productions is a powerful and pervasive as any of Larry Heard's soul-tinged moments. Just check "Trance Dance" with its thinly veiled air of mystery and sweetness, or the slow piano and funky flute of "Hypnotic Flute" for a fine example of how deep house was done in the beginning.
