After a quiet period spent hovering around electronic music's fringes, Ukrainian dusty deep house amd ambient explorer Vakula is back in a big way. Following a belated return to action in 2024, the long-serving artist has delivered a string of fine EPs for Phonogramme, Seven Villas and, most recently, Pure Delay. He's in fine form on this Oath Creations label debut, impressing with the dreamy ambient techno-goes-breaks shuffler 'Atmos Time' before offering even more immersive ambient sounds and more propulsive breakbeats on the gorgeous 'Break Time'. There's a classic eyes-closed, lie-back-on-the-sofa feel to the enveloping 90s dancefloor IDM revivalism of 'Drum Time', while closer 'Soul Time' is a gorgeous, sun-bright slab of pitched-down dreaminess.
