A decade after making their debut with an eponymous first full-length excursion, Girls Chat Room (aka Zillas On Acid and Babystar) return to Byrd Out with LP number three. Interestingly, while it touches on some of their familiar themes - retro-futurist electronics, throbbing Italo-disco/EBM style bass, acid and so on - Dracula's Daughter also boasts vocals (a first for both label and artist), as well as references aplenty to electroclash, darkwave and oddball 1980s new wave. Highlights are plentiful, with our picks including title track 'Dracula's Daughter', slo-mo acid chugger 'It's Really Easy (To Spend a Lot of Money)', the Nitzer Ebb-goes-electro flex of 'My Tamagochi Cries All Nite'), and the stylishly pulsating and picturesque 'Alone With My Clone'.
