Signed to Payday Records, the duo recorded a complete album and released just one single before the label folded, leaving the full project shelved indefinitely.

Now, after nearly 30 years in the shadows, the complete 1st Down album finally receives its long-overdue official release, restoring a vital chapter in Detroit hip-hop history and the early legacy of J Dilla.
