Daniele 'Shield' Contrini's long-running Rebirth Records imprint turns 20 this year, so to celebrate the label has curated this celebratory compilation - a set that combines fresh remixes of key catalogue cuts with rarities and hard-to-find gems from the vaults. Across the two-disc set, that means such gems as Luciano and Michel Kleis's gorgeously warm, organic and epic 'Star Odyssey' (a sort of tweaked cover/riff on an old Pat Metheny gem), Terrence Parker providing a typically organ-rich 'Deep Detroit' rework of 'Manifest' by Wallflower, a lusciously deep and cosmic Glenn Underground rub of Nandu's 'See You', the jazz-meets-Detroit-techno flex of Gianluca Pegoigiani's Ann Saunderson collaboration, 'Numero 5 (Rough Ride)' and an ultra-deep, glitchy and dubbed-out minimal house flip of ILO's 'City' courtesy of Alva Noto.
