Since launching back in 2022, Italy's The Edits Collection imprint has delivered fine rework EPs from such scene stalwarts as Pete Blaker, Mr P.C, The Patchouli Brothers, Rehaan and Lello di Franco. Here they deliver what appears to be a first ever re-edit missive from rising star Deon Jamar, a producer better known for delivering cultured deep house. His deep house roots come through loud and clear on opener 'A Popular Movement', a dusty and hazy take on a tactile neo-soul treat, and 'This Beat', seemingly a drum machine-driven house DJ tool. Over on side B, 'NGI' is an organ and vibraphone-rich shuffler that sounds like a forgotten old Italian house gem from 1992, while 'Dance' is a gorgeous, pitched-down workout full of slow, jazzy beats, sustained electric piano chords, spacey synths and soulful vocal snippets.
