There's something delightfully free and easy about Zanzibar Chanel, a pair of Melbourne eccentrics whose productions are deliciously hard to define. Here, they deliver the first 12" on Pig Sweat, offering a vinyl release for two of their best-loved tracks, "Killer" and "Big Bone Bitch". The latter - a squidgy, synth-heavy jam built around their own DJ Funk style ghetto vocals - has been a fan favourite for the best part of three years, and here comes accompanied by a tasty 2015 revision by Aussie pal Bell Towers. As for "Killer", it's their most obviously house-centric excursion to date, with wild, 8-bit melodies, woozy chords and tipsy electronics stretching out over a pulsating, analogue-sounding deep house groove. It is, indeed, killer.
