Ireland's Major Problems has done a superb job with this reissue of Ability II's Pressure EP, which has long been regarded as one of the standout releases of the bleep and bass era. "Pressure", and its more lauded flipside "Pressure Dub", are timeless examples of the original "Yorkshire bleep and bass" blueprint. Both are built around speaker-ratting sub bass, the intergalactic electronics of Detroit techno, and the trippy, head-in-the-clouds aesthetics of sound system dub. This edition supplements Ability II's re-mastered 1990 originals with a fresh remix from bleep enthusiast Luca Lozano, who pushes the track a little further towards early breakbeat hardcore territory whilst retaining the bleep classic's spacey feel.
