Earlier this year, Oneohtrix Point Never won an award for "Best Soundtrack" at the Cannes Film Festival. It was for his work on the score to Good Time, a New York-set dark thriller that's recently been getting rave reviews. Listening to it, it's easy to see why the eccentric electronica producer was handed a shiny gong. Although as experimental, electronic and challenging as his previous releases, much of the material also sounds grand and cinematic, seemingly capable of ramping up - or releasing - tension in a similar manner to legendary soundtrack composers. Like the film, the album concludes with the producer's collaboration with Iggy Pop, which sees both men at the top of their game.
