Blueprint bosse James Ruskin has gathered together an impressive cast-list of producers to rework tracks from Rommek's recent trilogy of EPs, Set In Stone. Ruskin is naturally one of these, and his creepy, atmospheric revision of "Grintstone" - all mangled metallic noise, slowly throbbing orchestration, distorted drums and booming bass - is undoubtedly one the EP's highlights. Also impressive is OVR's moody, hybrid electro/broken techno take on "Flint", while Blueprint veteran Oliver Ho steals the show (as Broken English Club) with a clanking and spacey version of "Komatiite" that fixes poignant, melancholic chords and barely audible spoken word vocals to a heavy slo-mo beat. Meanwhile, if thrusting industrial techno is your thing, check out the pots-and-pans percussion and intense bass of Makaton's version of "Obsidian".
