In recent times, Andre "Rozzo" Schmid and Philippe 'Serafin' Egger have used their Mountain People project to deliver rolling, analogue-rich blends of deep house and tech-house. On their latest 12", they've built on these solid foundations by throwing elements of other electronic styles into the mix too. For proof, check opener 'Iterate', a tough, stripped-back electro number rich in pulsing acid bass, hissing cymbals, vocoder vocal snippets and drum machine cowbells, and the rubbery, jazz-funk influenced, intergalactic house shuffle of 'Eau Vive'. Arguably best of all though is title track 'Ocean Me', a warming, analogue-heavy number that sees them add Snivilisation-era Orbital style melodies, yearning chords and squelchy bass to a crispy drum track.
