We're big fans of US talent Byron The Aquarius here at Juno. He is a magician on the keys and so whatever grooves he lays down, they sparkle with melodic brightness. His latest on Star Creature is a brilliantly mixed back that starts with a pretty gritty and dark cut, 'Atliens To Detroit', full of menace and warehouse filth. Elsewhere, there are signature synth glows on the deep and brilliantly undercooked 'Everlasting' while 'Long Way Home' sucks into that sort of dreamy, widescreen and cosmic deep-jazz-house sounds that Larry Heard perfected aeons ago. 'Jamama' is a nice louche and playful closer with fizzy synth fun.
