The late Andrew Lawrence recorded as Andy Skopes before losing a long battle with cancer at the start of 2019. Utopia Music was one of his regular homes and now the label has this posthumous collaborative EP with Madcap landing just in time for xmas. Soulful, rolling grooves are the order of the day on this super sweet 12". 'Coded' has a meaning baseline darting about the mix, with slightly eerie pads up top, but the whole thing serves to get you in a trance. 'Tap The Bottle' is more tender, with vulnerable chords and heartfelt vocals and 'Tidal Wave' closing down with rich, low sling bass and twinkling keys.
