David Morales made a lot of great house records in the 1990s, but few were quite as commercially successful as 1998's 'Needin' U', a gargantuan disco-house slammer that made liberal use of elements from classic tracks by the Chi-Lites and Rare Pleasure. On this Groove Records reissue, the 'Original Mistake' version - the familiar, filter-heavy disco-house looper that formed the basis of the radio edit - is joined by what many believe is the greatest mix, the 'Boss Anthem' take. Strangely omitted from the UK release in 1998, it's ten minutes of tough, DJ Sneak-inspired drums, restless piano stabs, righteous disco samples and oodles of energy. It's undoubtedly one of the best disco-house slammers ever made and more than worthy of a place in your collection.
