Japan's cult gold mine, DD Records, opened and closed within a few years. In this short period (1980-1985), 222 tapes (and a few vinyl LPs) were released, featuring the strangest, boldest, and most addictively subversive music from its social and creative circles, music that couldn't be found outside of Japan. Each tape contained abstract, xerographic graphics, often created by the musicians themselves, while the content ranged from avant-punk, cubist ambient music, sound collages, pop concréte, jazz prog, and early computer music. Finally, this compilation was released as a farewell gift, capping off five feverish years of new music and underscoring the avant-garde label's creative identity. It contains 13 endless and strange treasures, now seeing the light of day once again.
