You won't get far into a discussion about hardcore punk without Cro-Mags popping up as a vital point of reference. Their 1986 debut full-length, 'The Age of Quarrel', couldn't feel more like a time capsule of that first burst of intense emotive aggression which would remain an unaltered blueprint almost four decades on. The Cro-Mags name is royalty within the scene, while dynamic flag flyers from Turnstile to Rotting Out, have done little to hide their respect and adoration. Bruising anthems like 'Malfunction', 'Street Justice', and 'Don't Tread On Me', all remain contextually relevant and pummelling displays of hardcore, seething with a sincerity and venom that few have ever replicated.
