Rawax continues to reissue gems from the vast back catalogue of minimal maestro Ricardo Villalobos. This is the second (of three) vinyl EPs based on the 2006 compilation of the Chilean's early works, Salvador, a set that was originally only released on CD. Side A sports Villalobos's 2006 update of his 2000 underground club smash 'Que Belle Epoque', a typically off-kilter and mind-altering fusion of skewed, minimalist techno rhythms, wonky loops, wide-eyed vocal samples, stretched-out breakdowns and pleasing melodic motifs. Over on the reverse you'll find 1998 B-side 'Lugohitz', a genuinely trippy and sub-heavy techno thumper peppered with warehouse-ready rave stabs and aggressive electronics.
