Long-serving London-based edit legends Psychemagik are back in full swing after a somewhat sporadic release schedule in recent years, showing up here with the sixth instalment of their 'Undercover Lovers' series. As expected, the music is precisely on point, with familiar, pop-flavoured songs presented through an off-kilter lens. First up, an obscure cover of Phil Collins' bittersweet 'Another Day In Paradise' gets the scalpel treatment, with tropical energy abounding as the melancholic melodies echo in the breeze. On the reverse, we find an equally esoteric version of BT Express' 'Do It Til You're Satisfied', with synth horns riding over throbbing bass and seductive vocals. Lord only knows where they find their source material, but one can't help but admire the duo's formidable digging chops.
