Over the last decade, Stockholm-based Brit Mark Seven has carved a niche as one of this generation's foremost retro-futurists via EPs full of authentically synth and drum machine-heavy riffs on mid-80s NYC proto-house and the New Jersey/NYC garage-house wave that followed. It's the latter strand that he explores on his latest missive. Opener 'The Message (Remains)' is a glorious, piano-powered slab of dancefloor sunshine that sounds like it could have come out of Italy circa 1992, while 'Breezin' sees him pepper a Boyd Jarvis style bassline and unfussy machine drums with Korg M1 organ licks, r&b style vocal samples and warehouse-ready classic house stabs. Over on side B, 'Elements' is an organ-rich deep house am blessed with some great snare-heavy drum fills, while 'Give U Everything' is classic garage-house revivalism.
