Long serving International Deejay Gigolos boss DJ Hell is having rather a productive year. His latest release, which follows on from the unashamedly Kraftwerk-esque "Car, Car, Car", sees him explore a range of woozy, downtempo influences from the late '70s and early '80s. At 14 minutes long, the extended version of "Anything Anytime" is something of an epic. It never outstays its welcome, though, with Hell using it as an opportunity to tease out a woozy, lovable, heart-felt soundscape smothered in dirt-encrusted electronics, warm vintage synthesizer flourishes and a quirky vocoder vocal. And, of course, some rather odd modular pulses. Solomun provides a more dancefloor-centric remix on the flipside, smartly re-inventing the track as a chunk of bubbling dancefloor electro.
