Act of Sedition specializes in the most rarely seen of formats, the double seven-inch single. This is the label's third such release in a row and, like its predecessors, features fresh re-edits and re-fixes of classic funk jams. Dutch crew RocknRolla Soundsystem step up first, serving up a rolling, bass-heavy spruce-up of Aretha Franklin's "Chain of Fools" that's a little more 4-4 in feel than the Queen of Soul's original. SanFran Disko brilliantly rearranges the same artist's sweet 1983 boogie jam "Get It Right" - emphasizing the slap-bass, synths and bustling beats - before Frank Agrario gets to work on Marty Moore's punchy, disco era funk workout "Radiation Funk" with excellent results. Finally, Bully Boy provides a killer peak-time version of Wild Cherry's "Play That Funky Music".
