Record Store Day sometimes gets a lot of criticism for the sheer volume of re-releases people didn't seem to ask for. In the case of Visions of Dawn, nothing could be further from the truth. A forgotten, or at least long-lost Brazilian acid folk masterpiece, the record was first recorded in Paris circa 1976, but then quickly seemed to vanish into the ether many of the tracks sound like they emerged from.
In 2009, it was 'rediscovered' and immediately became a cult classic - again. Melding samba, Bossa Nova, trippy moods and gorgeous instrumentation, it has the ability to make you feel transported and transformed, as though offering an earshot of what another world might sound like. Or at least the other side of our own. Listen and not be transfixed, we challenge you.
