Olympia jazz collective Obridor, active from 1976 to 2006, spent three decades shifting through line-ups under the steady direction of keyboardist Michael Moore. With contributions from drummer Steven Bentley, saxophonists Vincent Soluna and Tom Russell, and multi-instrumentalist Walter Thomas Russell, the group produced a rich, often overlooked catalogue. Two standouts from their archive now land on vinyl for the first time: 'Blink Samba' and 'Willow'. The forme, recorded in 1983 at Russian Hill Studios, San Francisco, is a high-velocity percussive burner with a sharp Latin curve, pulled from a full album session that didn't see digital release until 2023. On the flip, 'Willow' throws you straighter-up into a jagged bassline and restless pulse.
