Father And Son Records And Tapes, a label with over 50 releases to date, celebrates its 10th anniversary with “FASRATⓍ” - a comprehensive compilation that reads like a “who’s who” of today’s Polish electronic–club–alternative–experimental (you name it) music scene.
Maciek Sienkiewicz, label boss and curator of the compilation, has crafted a journey of 31 tracks ranging from club-ready house, techno, electro and EDM, through slower breaks and dub, footwork, ’80s-inspired post-wave instrumentals, torch songs and deep ambient, to avant-garde soundscapes.
Sixteen tracks are contributed by artists who have released albums or EPs on FASRAT over the past decade, while the remaining fifteen come from old and new friends of the label - from underground heroes to internationally established musicians. And yes, there’s a finely judged balance between electronics and live instrumentation, along with a handful of vocal tracks, all sequenced into a seamless, colourful narrative. Safe travels!
