Given that Future Times' second Vibe compilation originally landed back in 2011, it's perhaps unsurprising that the Washington D.C-based imprint has enough fresh material to stretch the third volume over three separate 12" singles. This first installment contains material from both label stalwarts - think Max D delivering the typically quirky "Octopus", and Juju & Jordash showing us their "Soggy Bottom" - and a trio of lesser-known names. They all predictably hit the spot in different ways, with OV's "Junk Funk" - a wonderful combination of crystalline melodies, loose-limbed drum machine work, ambient chords and new age intent - standing out. It is, though, all good - just like the other two EPs in the series.
