Music history buffs of the world unite. Or at least take note. Flo Sullivan's forgotten synth pop anthem, 'Higher', is finally getting the reissue it needs (and deserves) to bring it to contemporary public attention, a track that was first recorded in 1983 at the legendary Amazon Studios in Liverpool, UK. Presented with two different versions, a bass-heavier 12" and a more organic 7" take, those two interpretations should be enough to pique your interest alone.
Just in case, though, there are two never-before-released tunes also included here. 'Element' is a punchy, hypnotic dip in the deep and often disorientating dancefloor moods of the mid-1980s, when the piece was first written, and will suit fans of labels like Brothers From Different Mothers. It also gets an alternative version, which seems to pre-empt the sound of Kate Tempest, while closer 'Over' is a sublime and sexy slice of jazzy downtempo.
