Although he's been around a few years as a DJ and producer, very little is known about Demi Riquisimo. Going by the slim amount of info on his various social media profiles, we can only assume that he wants to keep it that way. We do know, though, that he favours "disco and acid", and it is this fusion of the soulful and machine-led that can be heard on debut EP "A Lifetime on the Hips". Check, for example, "Sarong Song", where sweeping disco strings and funk-fuelled bass cluster around a razor-sharp synthesizer arpeggio and robotic beats, or the swinging jazz-funk/deep house/sample house hybrid that is "Lifetime On The Hips". Rush-inducing peak-time positivity is provided by the Tiger and Woods style loop-house of "Vernon", while closer "Lost Quay" smothers a functional, mid-tempo house groove in madcap synths, filtered vocal samples and psychedelic electronics.
