Paul Murphy, longtime London jazz DJ and Jazz Room Records founder, stockpiles a smashing stack of reimagined favourites on first-ever Covers compilation. Mixing first-time-on-wax rarities with unreleased edits and live recordings, only 400 copies are available, and notably three cuts are vinyl-only due to licensing hell. There's a storming live take on Deodato's 'Super Strut' from Finnish psych-fusion crew Saimaa, a gospel-choir-led 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' from Mike LeDonne's Groover Quartet, and Quasimode's jazzed-up spin on 'Hi Tech Jazz' - originally by Galaxy 2 Galaxy - edited by Murphy himself. Other highlights include a dubbed-out 'Riot In Lagos', Underworld via Budapest jazz trio 3io, and Chip Wickham's flute-heavy flip on Santana's 'Jungle Strut'.
